그동안 사람, 사물 혹은 어떤 보이지 않는 존재와 인간과의 관계성을 탐구하며, 작품을 통해 관계와 상호작용, 소통, 영향력 등에 대한 작업을 해왔다. 이를 영상작업 뿐만 아니라, 다양한 오브제와 센서를 활용한 여러 미디어 설치방식을 이용하여 시각화한다. 이번 전시에서는 작품 <reflection, 2021>과 <fragility, 2020>를 하나로 융합하여 새로운 의미의 작품을 선보인다. 구체적으로는 현대사회 속에서 다양하게 변화하는 관계에 대하여 사유하고, 관람자를 작품 속으로 유도하여 그들과 작품 사이에 새로운 관계를 형성하거나 이를 재해석시키는 작업이다. 전시장의 천장에 설치된 여러 대의 빔 프로젝터는 바닥을 향해 투사된다. 기하학적 형태의 파편들은 끊임없이 부유하고, 센서의 데이터 값에 의해 그 모습을 변화시킨다. 또한, 벽면에는 부서진 거울조각이 설치되어있다. 부서진 거울조각은 그 표면의 휜 정도와 방향에 따라 공간의 빛을 다르게 왜곡하고 반사한다. 수십 개의 거울조각이 만들어 낸 입체적이고 비현실적인 효과는 어떤 공간에도 속하지 않은 유토피아적 장소와 현실에 없는 유크로니아적 시간으로 이동시킨다. 매개로 사용된 거울은 현실 속 우리의 모습을 반영하는 한편, 현실화된 공간에서 벗어나 다른 차원의 경험을 유도하는 중간적 장치이다. 각기 다른 형태로 부서진 거울은 관람객을 작은 조각 안에 가두어 스스로를 다른 객체로써 바라볼 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 그리고 그 거울을 통해 반사된 파편적 이미지는 현실에서 경험할 수 없는 몽환적, 중립적인 세계를 구성한다.

Until now, I have explored relationships between people, objects, or certain invisible beings and humans, and worked on relationships, interactions, communication, and influence through my work. I visualize this not only by video work, but also by using various media installation methods using various objects and sensors. In this exhibition, I showcase works of a new meaning by combining my works ‘Reflection, 2021’ and ‘Fragility, 2020’. Specifically, I think about various changing relationships in modern society, and it is to form a new relationship between the audiences and the work by inducing them into the work or letting them reinterpret it. Several beam projectors installed on the ceiling of the exhibition hall project toward the floor. Geometric fragments are constantly floating and change their appearance by the sensor’s data values. Also, broken mirror pieces are installed on the wall. The broken mirror pieces distort and reflect the light in space differently depending on the degree and direction of curvature of the surface. The three-dimensional and unrealistic effects created by dozens of mirror sculptures move to utopian places that do not belong to any space and to eucronian times that are not in reality. The mirror used as a medium reflects our appearance in reality, while it is an intermediate device that deviates from a realized space and induces experiences in other dimensions. The mirrors, which are broken into different shapes, trap the viewer in small pieces and provide an opportunity to look at themselves as different objects. And the fragmentary image reflected through the mirror constitutes a dreamy and neutral world that cannot be experienced in reality.
